The standard ISO 9001 consists of requirements for quality management systems. It includes management responsibility, resource management, product/service realization, measurement (including customer satisfaction), analysis and improvement. ISO 9004 consists of guidelines for development of a quality management system, including customer-focused orientation, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, factual approach to decision making, continuous improvement, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships (Luning and Marcelis, 2002).
